My List
For whatever reason, recently I've been thinking about those lists-of-things-to-do-before-you-die. I decided to edit mine. If I don't do all of these things before I die... oh well. Life is about more than doing random things and having fun. Sometimes it's about dying to yourself, and making sacrifices. But then... sometimes it is about enjoying all the awesome opportunities God gives us. Instead of my list being a goal list, I want it to be more like an inspiration list, to remind me to savor things and always be a kid at heart. And I think it would be fun to read it when I'm a little old lady and see how many of these things I actually did.
And so, without further ado, my list:
- Write a message in a bottle and throw it out on the ocean
- Go on a missions trip
- Catch fireflies
- Watch a meteor shower with someone I love (Check mark. That was very special)
- Milk a cow
- Learn how to surf
- Learn how to use chopsticks. Properly.
- Get my nose pierced
- Learn how to dance
- Climb to the top of a mountain
- Catch a bridal bouquet
- Ride in a hot air balloon
- Ride an elephant
- See the aurora borealis
- Write a song
- Go cliff jumping
- Learn CPR
- Rescue a baby bird so he lives
- Go water skiing
- Go camping. And like it.
- Carve my lover's and my initials into a tree
- Get an article published in a magazine
- Get a book published
- Make breakfast for dinner. Happy-face pancakes
- Learn how to cut hair really well
- See an active volcano
- Go firewalking. Or not.
- Build an igloo
- Read the entire dictionary
- Live in a tree house, or at least spend the night in one
- Learn how to play a complicated song I like on the piano
- Eat something I really don't think I'll like, and find out I really like it
- Learn a foreign language
- Adopt a lot of children
- Memorize a lot more of the Bible
- Jump in a pile of leaves
- Save bread crusts to feed the ducks with a little child

Cool. I have a list (not as long as yours yet! ;)), and we have 8, 9, 23 and 34 in common!! Here's to hoping some of this crazy stuff comes true in our lives! :D
I have done a few of those things. However, I cannot envision you surfing. I personally cannot see myself surfing either so it is nothing against you. :)
Did you know, there is a treehouse hotel in Sweden. My hubby tried to take pictures of it, but it was at night. None of them came out. :)
@anavrea - (I can't imagine me surfing either. I'd probably die. But if I knew how, I think it would be fun. Too bad you have to learn in order to know how...)
LOL Nope, I don't think I would like surfing even if I knew how. It is fun to watch, but I am a bit of a coward. I admit it freely. Instead I live vicariously through my characters. Not that any of them are inclined to surf. :)
An excellent list, indeed! I have done some of those things (ride an elephant!) & highly recommend them!
This has inspired me to make a list as well...
@ScottishDementedWench - Of course, you were my inspiration for elephant riding. I saw your pictures and immediately decided that had to be on my list.
